Our Club Headline Debut
- 1/4/07
Welcome to the Jersey Shore
Triathlon Club!
...and thank you for visiting the very first
edition of our website. You are early....so you must enjoy Triathlon
Racing. We sure do...and with that enthusiasm created The Jersey Shore
Triathlon Club (JSTC) to capture the energy surrounding this growing
multi-sport challenge here in Southern Monmouth and Ocean County and
channel it through a sharing community.
A New Year indeed, and with it our club is born
with the thought, “what if”....
...What if some tri vet’s join our club with the
idea of sharing some experience with those newer to the sport and eager
to learn?
...What if a caring group of area athletes and
supporters with a whole lot of diversity, find a multi-sport website
they can call home?
...And what if this club can create a synergy to
enhance the enjoyment of training and racing among us, as well as give
back to the surrounding community that support and accommodate our love
for running, biking, and swimming.
Well we’re here, streaming live! So stay tuned,
and you’ll find out if it is working as fast as we do! Or better
yet...would you like to be a building block in our new home? We’d love
to have you on board and join our club.
Please take a look around our website and check
back often. We will be adding to it a couple times a week over the
winter as we...like you, gear for the upcoming season. We are working on
our form here online...and we know it is not perfect, but our core is
strong. Have a comment or suggestion? Drop us an email. We’d love to
hear from you.
In the meantime, take a look around. Still a lot
of construction left to do...but you have to walk before you do an
Ironman!
Speaking of Ironman...one man, Doug Rice,
founder of the Sandy Hookers Tri Club and the father of New Jersey
Triathlon to most everyone we know, is very much on our mind as we start
our club's journey. We'd like to thank Doug for his support in our
efforts to organize a little fun out of Southern Monmouth/Ocean County,
and look forward to the challenge of "tri-ing" to operate our club with
the same class and professionalism he has brought to our sport. "The
Beast" on St. Croix is nothing in comparison to that challenge! Thank
you Doug.
Thank you again for visiting and check back
often as we post our club news and updates, along with upcoming events
and training schedules.
