Tim Horn

I’ve been a lifelong resident of the Jersey Shore, having grown up in Brick and now residing in Point Pleasant.  My athletic career started with travelling soccer through middle school, but my mom says earlier in the womb battling my identical twin brother.  I ran cross country in middle school and cross country/track at Brick High School.

At the University of New Haven I ran track and cross country on a partial scholarship while obtaining my B.A. in political science, minor in criminal justice.  UNH is famous for the forensic scientist Henry Lee (OJ Simpson trial) and now Tony Sporano (Miami Dolphins coach, former UNH coach).   My cycling miles began in the hills of New Haven County during the off season.

After UNH, I headed down Route 70 to beautiful Camden, NJ to Rutgers University School of Law- Camden.  Some of my fastest training runs were outrunning pitbulls through the streets of Camden.  I started training for my first triathlon during law school.  During law school I completed an internship at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Camden.

My first triathlon was the Columbia Triathlon in Maryland in 1999.  The swim and bike were tough, but my run was near the top of the race.  I placed in the first-timer division.  My second triathlon was Eagleman that same year.  I continued racing triathlons and duathlons during law school.  Three times I qualified for TEAM USA to compete at the ITU Duathlon World Championships racing in Calais, France; Weyer, Austria; and Newcastle, Australia.

After passing the NJ and PA bar exam (both first try) in 2001 I did a one year law clerkship for the Honorable Edward J. Turnbach in New Jersey Superior Court- Ocean County, Criminal Division.

Currently I am employed at Villani & DeLuca, P.C. in Point Pleasant Beach, focusing on commercial and residential real estate transactions, corporate business transactions, criminal defense, personal injury, ABC transactions, and simple estate planning.  I have been at this firm for 7 years.

I took a break from triathlons for about 6 years just competing in duathlons and running races.  In 2007 I joined the Jersey Shore Triathlon Club after Joe D. said someone named Chris Wilcox was starting a new club based out of Brielle Cyclery.

On July 20, 2008 I got married to my lovely wife, Tracy.  Kid # 1 is expected in May.

I hope to help in the continued growth of the club and the sport of triathlon by being a member of the Board of Trustees.  Please contact me at any time if you have any questions about racing, training or need some legal help!!
